Summary: Video screen malfunction after 30 minutes
Comment: After opening and using the video camera for approx 30 miutes, the upper 2/3 screen had a series of horizontal lines across the screen rendering the image unusable.

Summary: Quickly replacing our digital camcorder
Comment: The flip is so convenient to have everywhere, it's quickly replacing our digital camcorder. And the fact that the video on it doesn't need to be captured from the camcorder to the PC makes it so fast to share the video once it's taken so we're getting to the videos much quicker. The picture quality is surprisingly good, even when viewed on a large screen TV.
One improvement I'd look for, if there's ever a similarly priced camcorder that adds an optical zoom instead of digital, I'd probably buy a new one almost immediately. The zoomed video gets very grainy very fast, makes the zoom almost useless.
It's surprisingly good on batteries. We get at least a couple of hours of recording and transfer from every pair of AA batteries.

Summary: An Amazing Little Camcorder
Comment: This camcorder is just great. For $80, you get amazing digital video quality and in a small convenient package. Uploading vids to the computer is incredibly easy. The camera itself feels very durable. Battery life is astounding. I also ordered a cheap $5 mini tripod, which works great and holds this camera perfectly.
While this camera does have a few minor annoyances (no FF or RW on the camera's vid playback, an annoying red light that starts up whenever recording), this camera packs an amazing punch (all for under $80 at your local walmart). You won't be disapointed with this purchase.

Comment: I purchased one Flip Video Ultra for myself and could not have been more pleased with the little unit. It performs exactly as advertised.Considering the size,simplicity,and results, this gadget takes the cake. ONE WARNING! Be selective which family members you show it to. I just purchased another one.
